After a year without a dog and with much consideration, we decided to get a golden retriever. This time we wanted a bitch, and after having looked and read a lot on the internet we got in contact with the Dutch breeder Mieke Gerritsen from "Van de Beerse Hoeve" and made arrangements to come and visit her and have a look at her dogs to see if we liked them. The first time we went without the kids so we could concentrate on the dogs and the breeder. It was definitely a good experience and we were met by wavering tails by every single dog. We liked what we saw and agreed to sign up for a puppy.

Kristian and Molly 7 weeks old On the 2nd of October 2003 Molly was born along with a sister and three brothers and we were looking forward to be able to go to the Netherlands and see the puppies. We visited twice without choosing between the two females because the breeder told us it would be better to wait until they had developed a little personality. Finally we chose Molly although she has an unusual "haircut". She has a swirl that runs from her nose and end between her eyes. Her temperament though is lovely and that means a lot to us so we ended up with Molly (well we had to make a choice). Molly has become a member of our family and she has a lot of friends in this area. She loves to go playing and usually she comes home completely covered in mud - very nice. She is a wonderful family-dog and enjoys to cuddle up with the children so we were lucky: we think we got the perfect dog . |
